Annual "Best Hospitals" survey ranks Iowa's program among the nation’s top 10%; UI Health Care Medical Center remains No. 1 hospital in Iowa.

The award supports development of a tool to help urologic oncologists create personalized treatment plans for patients being treated with one of an increasing number of chemotherapy regimens for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer.

After a national search, H. Henry Lai, MD — Gerald L. Andriole Professor of Urologic Surgery at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis — has been selected to serve as chair and department executive officer of the University of Iowa Department of Urology.

Presented by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, the award recognizes exemplars of humanism in patient care.
