Iowa Urology enjoys a strong showing at annal AUA meeting

Iowa Urology faculty, residents, students, and fellows gave 35 presentations at the Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) in Washington, DC, from May 14 to 18.

"I'm so proud of everyone on our team who went to AUA," says H. Henry Lai, MD, Department Executive Officer and Rubin H. Flocks Chair of Urology. "It's a great way to demonstrate to everyone in the field all the ways the University of Iowa is at the forefront of impactful urology research and education." 

Highlights included an especially successful Iowa showing at the Society of Academic Urologists (SAU) meeting, held concurrently with the AUA meeting. In addition to lectures by Dr. Kenneth Nepple on AI as a research tool, Dr. Ryan Steinberg on developing a point-of-care ultrasound curriculum, and Dr. Chad Tracy on his experience advancing to residency program director, resident physician Joanna Orzel received the SAU's inaugural Resident Teaching Award. Dr. Tracy also served as co-chair of the meeting.
